Outfit of the Day: Thursday

I'm not sure why I went all black and white artsy in this shot.  But don't worry...the entire ensemble is black and white so it doesn't change anything about the outfit!  I purchased this skirt maybe 5 years ago at a thrift store and forgot I had it.  Or maybe I saw it in my closet but assumed it didn't fit?  Not sure.  But I'm SURE that I haven't worn it more than twice in that 5 year period.  I got a lot of compliments today and got to give my favorite response..."Thanks!  Thrift store!"  I love this response because it is both smug and thrifty.  Essentially I got a fantastic deal AND you won't be able to buy this skirt because it was second hand to me.  Who knows where it came from?!  It's an original!  OK, I'm kidding about the smugness.  But I will admit that I like telling people about my thrift store steals!  Some people get really excited because they also love a great deal.  And some people sort of scoff because they would never be caught dead in a thrift store.  I'm not bothered by that and I don't blame those people.  It can be weird to think about wearing someone else's old clothes.  But if you're in the mood it's great fun to scour the racks and sometimes find an item you could never afford otherwise.  I have found designer skirts (with the tags on them!!) for like $6 at Ohio Thrift!  You could get addicted to that feeling, let me tell you!  Try it!  You'll like it!  And I don't know about you but I'd rather have 20 funky thrift store skirts for $2 a piece than 1 skirt from Macy's for $70.  I'm a hoarder that way!

Stay Houndy!!

Em
