I’ve been watching a lot of Homeland lately. I don’t know how I feel about it but I love
me some Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin!
It’s an exciting show but there are a LOT of coincidences and I always
have a hard time believing them. But my
favorite thing on the show is the suits.
I’ve always wanted one. The last
one I had was purchased by my mom for speech and debate. It was black with tapered legs and one of
those extra-long 90’s jackets.
Nice! I’ll try to find a picture
for you. I wore that thing out! I’ve been reluctant to by a suit in my adult
years for 3 reasons
1. Cost
2. Buttons—They aren’t always kind to an ample chested dame.
3. My weight fluctuates and if I invest in a suit, I want to wear it for years.

I’m thinking I might look into one after this challenge
ends. After all, I can always have it
tailored if my weight changes. I want to
get a jacket, skirt and pants so that I can wear the pieces separately to work
and create a ton of different outfits. It
will feel really special to invest in something nice for myself. I have a history of buying low quality items
and wearing them for the time (usually less than a year) that they last after frequent
washings and general over-wear. I’m not
sure if “over-wear” is a word but I’ve decided that’s what I do with several
cardigans in my closet! I came across a threadbare
black cardigan with a hole in it yesterday.
Even though I know it’s crazy, I don’t want to get rid of it. It’s like a security blanket to me. It’s almost as if I don’t remember the 15
other cardigans in my closet.
(eyeroll) Anyway…a suit is going
on the list of clothes to buy after this year is up! YAY!
Stay Houndy!
Em
